Renovation Woes!

Do you have an older home that has been extensively renovated prior to your ownership? If you do, and are experiencing winter attic issues, or just considering an upgrade to your attic insulation, consider the following.

Your existing insulation can hide many mistakes and shortcuts taken by renovation contractors in the past. Removal of the existing insulation prior to an upgrade allows for a complete inspection of the attic and will expose any issues.

Electrical issues are commonly uncovered during insulation removal. In the picture below, the recessed light is not approved for insulation contact, and the wiring is suspect. Whenever an issue is found, we bring in the appropriate certified trades to remedy the problems.
